We continue our series of dives on the Andrea Doria by doing a night dive. Not a lot of light was getting to the bottom so we figured the conditions wouldn't be much different. We cut this dive short with only about 15 minutes on the bottom to have time to eat and get ready for bed.

Wreck

After getting all geared up we hit the water for our night dive. There wasn't a whole lot of difference in the amount of light that reached the bottom.

Stairs

I follow a set of stairs into the wreck. Actually, most of the wreck has collapsed around the staircase.

This looks like a gauge that is heavily grown over.

Sea anemone blanket the wreck and open up at night to feed.

Lines

We ran several lines along the top of the wreck in order to be able to find our way back to the anchor line. We really didn't want anyone getting lost on these dives.

Diver

A diver emerges from the depths of the Doria back up to the port side. The wreck lies over on her starboard side.

Several fish dart in and out of the superstructure of the wreck.

Opening

An opening in the side of the wreck, actually the top, gives a little view inside.

Window

I think this is some sort of window.

Anchor

An old anchor abandoned on a previous dive long ago lays on top of the wreck. It is heavily grown over.
