Now it seems he'll be the Democrat nominee for president, the time has come to be completely, brutally, even resignedly honest about what kind of person Mr. Obama was, is and would be. So let us do that, and let the chips fall where they may.
The fact is that Mr. Obama may have been an honest striver as well as an intelligent, even brilliant one in his youth. Let's say he was, that his prominence in a top law school owed nothing to "affirmative action" quotas (which weren't called "diversity" back then). What did he do with that prominence and brilliance, aside from marrying Michelle?
He went into Chicago politics, an utterly and bottomlessly corrupt milieu which included (and includes) a Balkanized racial spoils system centered around race-baiting organizer-lawyers and foul "revs" like Obama's own pastor. Obama was a visibly clean, provably non-shyster, truly intelligent, acceptable front for this cesspool. The critical question then arises: Mr. Obama listened without protest to his "rev" for many years. He did this in one of only two possible states: (1) "I believe what he's saying," or (2) "I have to go along with this malarkey to stay part of The System."
If it's (1) (he believed) we reach an impassible contradiction: the law school review editor cannot have been that stupid. Therefore it's (2) and Obama has proven himself a smart man without principles or integrity.
Knowing what Obama was and what he became, what follows? What would Mr. Obama be as president? Since his backers would never allow the demise of the national racial spoils system, he would be what he has been, the bright and acceptable face of that system and all its other invidious, dishonest, often criminal political enterprises. And behind the tolerant mask an ambitious, soulless vacuum.
