No Innocents Here

A major argument against driving all illegal aliens from the United States is that it will hurt many people who don't deserve it. Looking over the groups who will suffer - and they are, indeed, many and all-inclusive - let's see if any are undeserving.

First, the illegals themselves. Did they not know they broke the law? They knew. That by dropping babies in America they left hostages to fortune? They knew. Did they not know that all they gained was forfeit if they were caught? They knew. Do they deserve, then, to lose everything, all property and money (including remittances to Mexico if they can be sucked back out), their children, absolutely everything? Of course they do, all that and gallons of sweat fleeing before the bloodhounds.

Next, the businesses and individuals who hired illegals - the chicken processors, the restaurants, the lawn services and builders, the hotels that wanted maids who worked cheap and didn't talk back. Any innocents there? None in sight. Will their business suffer as they ditch the illegals when Social Security numbers come back no-matched? Yes. Do they deserve it? All that and bankruptcy.

Which brings up the national economy. All those lawn services, builders, hotels and restaurants losing cheap illegal labor... it's bound to hurt The Economy. That means all of us, at least somewhat, in the pocketbook. But did we not know, did we not see the Indio faces in the kitchen, hear the rattle of Spanish among workmen building our houses, watch the sly or dumb looks of "casual labor" waiting on street corners to be bought at daily auction?

We knew; we saw; we're all coyotes now. It's time to vomit up the poisoned meat, to chew off the leg caught in the trap. There are no innocents here, and no excuses.
