COMPAS Retreat participants outline priorities and goals for formalizing a new network of policy professionals and students.
In early 2001 the COMPAS Project will begin its third and final phase with the goal of officially launching an organization to continue the work of the COMPAS Project in Spring-Summer 2001. Convened through a series of conference calls and internet discussion tools the COMPAS Project will facilitate a series of "Virtual Summits" in 2001.These Virtual Summits are designed to serve as a forum to discuss issues raised during the COMPAS Retreat in relation to creating a network for public policy professionals of color. Additionally, these Virtual Summits are designed to allow members of the COMPAS Strategic Planning Committee to exchange ideas and information with other related initiatives occurring in Texas and California in 2000-01.
