Mark Davis- bodhran, bones, and things that go bump in
the night!
Mark plays an Albert Alfonso bodhran made in 1994. Albert is very selective
about who purchases his drums.........they must have cash or a valid
credit card.
Mark has been a fan of traditional Irish music since the fifth North Texas
Irish Festival 1982. He has been playing since 1996, first with the New
Potatoes and also with his wife Elaine's band, Triskelion, (but not at
their paying gigs).
Mark has also played with Linc Chalon (former Acoustic Nerve guitarist/
singer), Jeff Barnes and Bubba Hernandez of Brave Combo, jazzman Drew Phelps, and
Maritime Canadian celtic rockers Cuillin. Fortunately, most of the above
mentioned playing was done in sessions and the persons named would deny
ever having played with Mark.
Some famous peoples comments about Mark:
Drew Phelps: "Hey man, you really need some lessons!"
Jeff Barnes: "Well, a metronome would probably help-- Brave Combo uses one."
Francie "Meaux Joyeux" White: " your bringing your drum?!! Great!
We couldn't get port-a-potties!"
In his spare time, Mark likes to listen to Irish tunes on the stereo, practice
playing rhythms in Dallas traffic (yes, that's him weaving on L.B.J. Freeway),
and adoring his lovely wife, Elaine!
