RESPONSIBILITY
By Patricia Darrow, Astrologer
You and you alone are responsible for your present life. All good and all bad that enter your life are direct results of some present or past action. Yes some of what you are doing with this life is a direct result of past life actions. But still you are the one who took that course of action. Now you must pay the piper by fulfilling the destiny you created for yourself. The successful person accepts one hundred percent responsibility for the outcome of their choices. You are in control of the final outcome of your life. Blame statements do not fit into your vocabulary.
Often you want to take credit for your success and blame others for your failures. You are in the driver’s seat in your life. If in your dreams, you are letting others drive or are in the back seat, you are not accepting your responsibilities. When you dream that you are driving from the back seat of a car, you do not have the control over your life that you should. It does not matter what cards you received in the game of life. But it matters very much how you play them. Along the road of life you will meet good weather and bad. You will have times when all seems to be going your way. And you will have times when you seem to be swimming against the tide. These circumstances may be beyond your control. But how you react to them lies within your control.
When you consult a psychic or astrologer, the purpose should be to help facilitate decision. Both of these counselors can help shed more light on the various paths that lie ahead. But neither can just tell you what is going to happen. For example, they can help you decide if you are making wise choices. They can also see things that are hidden to you. They will let you know the best time for money and love but they can not make you take these opportunities. The idea behind seeking such information does not lie in being passive and just accepting what is told to you. It lies in using the information and developing your highest and best possible future. It is true that we do not have total and complete free will. In some previous life, we have chosen some of the events of this life. A psychic or astrologer can also let you know when these events are approaching. So you can be prepared to deal with them. But not every event of your life is predesignated. Otherwise God would not have given you free will.
When you say you are experiencing a run of bad or good luck, you are relinquishing control over your destiny. You give it to some unknown force called luck. Napoleon said "I make my own opportunities". In other words rather than resigning yourself to waiting out this period of bad luck, do something about it. Do not just sit and wait for things to be get better. Man who stands on corner waiting for a roast partridge to fall in his hand has a long wait!
Ruining your life or living constructively require equal effort. Are you the person you want to be -- or the one someone else wants you to be? You’re special. Only you can fulfill your unique purpose. How do you expect others to accept you, if you don’t?
How you make a living is a way you express yourself. For the next month, do more than enough to just get by. Take pride in your work and yourself. Extending yourself becomes easy.
Everyone’s born with considerable potential. Invest time and energy in manifesting it. A psychic or astrologer points out your possible future. Fate alone doesn’t actualize it. Attend classes and read books. Potential, like gold in a mine, is worthless if unused. Capricorn, Ben Franklin wrote: "If an individual empties his purse into his head, no one can take it from him." Utilizing potential insures success.
Learning lessons and growing makes life progressive. Remember, rewards not reaped in this life await you in the next. But, if you don’t seek growth and realize your potential, you will only repeat your mistakes. Don’t expect someone else to make the most out of your life for you. Others can give you tools but can't enforce their use.
Mistakes will be made. The idea is not to beat yourself up over them. Doing so would prevent you from learning and moving on. Being too hard on yourself, makes you afraid. Fear cripples and causes you to miss opportunities. The past is past. Learn from it and move on to the future.
