Steps to Follow in the Scientific
Method
|
-
Make an observation.
-
-
State the problem: What do you
want to find out?
-
-
What is already known about the observation?
-
-
Develop a hypothesis: What do
you think is a reasonable explanation for the observation?
-
-
Design an experiment that will provide
answers: What materials will be needed and how will they be used?
-
-
Record data or observations:
What happened during the experiment?
-
-
Draw a conclusion: Did your data
support your hypothesis? What did you learn? What do your results
mean?
