This 90-foot long, 100,000 lb. shaft was weld-fabricated and machined at Everett Engineering,
Inc., from the customer prints. This holding spud for a 300-ton crane barge serves to brace the crane vessel against the harbor floor, and to level the load distribution when the barge crane is loaded. |
Everett Engineering welders and field machinists built up the seats with stainless steel and re-machined in place a flanged petroleum cracking tower pipeline connection at a Northwest refinery.
Everett Engineering machinists shown shown machining a 14 ft dia Rotek bearing mount surface for a 10,000 H.P. Voith Schneider cycloidal prop drive on a Puget Sound tractor tug.
Bearing plates for cycloidal prop drive rotating mounts for another tractor tug installation are shown here as performed by Everett Engineering,
Inc. Tolerances conformed to over this 18-foot diameter bearing were plus or minus .006" for flatness. Similar tolerances and better for such large pieces are maintained routinely for concentricity, alignment, roundness, and torsional skew.
