“ I have been studying fossil sharks, especially the evolution of the modern Great White and Mako sharks for over 20 years. After studying the more recent finds of the C. megalodon teeth, we have found that while there are similarities with the Great White shark, there are also some distinct differences. Your reconstruction reflects these differences. I would like to congratulate you for making sure the jaw is the proper size for the teeth. . . Finally, and probably most important, as far as a museum display is concerned, the jaw is very impressive for its size and also is esthetically pleasing to look at.”

Because of the Pendergraft’s extensive collection they are able to offer these reproduction shark jaws fitted with real fossil teeth. However, since the specimens are collected from ancient seabeds off the coast of the southeastern United States, a reproduction using fossil teeth rather than one using reproduced teeth takes a little longer to construct.
