This project involved the removal of 20 slabs of +17" concrete pavement and the installation of 30 L-850C lights. The L-850C lights in the asphalt connector taxiways were installed using 36" dia. cores and directional bores, thereby minimizing pavement modification. The L-850C lights in the concrete connector taxiways were installed by removing the entire concrete slab in which the light would be located, directional boring to the light location, installing the light base, and replacing the slab. The entire slabs had to be removed due to the lights being less than 2' from the slab perimeter joint. This project's success was only possible due to the following.....
