Since 1987 the Science Center of Pinellas County has been home base for The St. Petersburg Astronomy Club. It is here that the club’s monthly meetings are held, as well as the monthly business meeting. It is also the home of the Optical Lab, which meets in the rear annex of the Science Center on Saturday afternoons between noon and 4:00pm.

SPAC, in cooperation with the Science Center, joins in on the monthly viewing sessions held at the Science Center whereby members set up telescopes to allow the public to join us in viewing the wonders of the night sky. Also available for public viewing is the 16" Meade LX200 which is housed in the Carol Samuels Observation. The observatory was built and dedicated in 1997 and club members are instrumental in its operation and upkeep.
