New Feature! Species and Genus Profile: Visit Pionus profile here: GENUS PIONUS
Pionus parrots are small to medium sized South American parrots known for their quieter vocalizations and mild manners. Macaws
Macaws raised here at Impeckable Aviaries include two popular species; the yellow-collared macaw, Ara auricollis and the beautiful Blue and Gold Macaw, Ara ararauna. It takes a special person to appreciate large macaws. That's because these birds besides being big, smart, and loud are long lived and need lots of attention. That means when you buy a macaw, you are purchasing a life-long companion. And that means you have a special obligation to realize that despite the mess, the occasional loud noise, and the obvious need to respect the capabilities of that large beak, owning a large macaw is an awesome responsibility. That dosen't mean it's difficult, just that you must accomodate an extrodinary animal that goes way beyond the normal pet bird - human experience. You must be a true animal person to own a large macaw! Availablitiy: We have hand-feeding and weaning Blue and Gold macaws and Yellow-collared macaws. They will be ready to go soon. We also have nesting pairs of Blue and Golds whose eggs should hatch sometime later this month.
