plasticlittleNo paradise is perfect, not even the breathtakingly beautiful planet Yietta, a world composed entirely of dense liquid gas, where colonists must live on a floating artificial continent and make their living by exploiting tourists and exporting the planet's unique resources... resources with certain applications best left undiscovered. Behind the backs of the civilian authorities, a secret organization within Yietta's military initiates a ruthless plot to take the planet for themselves, seizing control of the gravity-belts that keep Yietta's floating city one step away from armageddon! Deceived by the military until it is almost too late, Professor Nalerof Mordish manages to sabotage their plans at the cost of his own life... but the merciless Commander Guizel is not one to give up easily, and the target of his anger is Mordish's daughter, Elysse.
Enter Tita, 17 year old captain of the hypersub CHA CHA MARU, who together with her crew, specializes in hunting the bizarre creatures that lurk in the Sea of Clouds. By rescuing Elysse from the very clutches of the military, Tita puts the lives of both herself and her crew in mortal peril... but, well, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do, and Tita's the kind who likes to see things through. Tensions mount as the military mobilizes their forces in a desperate bid to retrieve Elysse, who they believe to possess a vital computer code, and Tita must play a dangerous game of tag with an entire army of professional killers! It's Cat and Mouse on a planet-wide scale, with one crucial difference: Mice don't shoot back, but, Tita does!
Packed to the gills with graphic violence, gratuitous nudity, and a nerve-jangling storyline that kicks into hyperdrive at the start of Act One and accelerates into a frantic and furious climax of delights, from epic undersea battles and entire cities collapsing, to a villain to end all villains and the roughest, toughest, tomboy heroine to ever strut her stuff in a spandex wet suit!
Details
Beautiful animation ... punctuated by frequent scenes focusing on female breasts taken to an almost medical level of detail.

Creator [Satoshi] Urushibara and director [Kinji] Yoshimoto said in a 1995 interview that Plastic Little was actually only a "side story" in the vast universe they had created, and that the "real story" was still to come. It has been one of the most reviled OAVs among politically correct fan groups, nicknamed "Plastic Nipple" and "Silicon Little" on account of its creator's fondness for bouncing breasts rendered in lovingly perfect detail. It is also one of the closest and most exact renditions of an artist's painting style in animated form, every frame a near-perfect facsimile of [Satoshi] Urushibara's glossy, sensuous art and a glowing tribute to the animators' skills.

Commentary
If you like to see breasts rendered to an almost medical level of detail, then this is the title for you. There is some violence, some very respectable action scenes and the aforementioned naughty bits. Overall, the title is actually quite tame. And, although fairly old, it still manages to stand the test of time.
I used to have the subtitled VHS version. I took the time to transfer my VHS version to DVD and when an official DVD became available, I repurchased this title on DVD.
