Rancho Cucamonga High School, the newest of six comprehensive high schools in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, opened on September 2, 1992, with approximately 1,500 students in grades nine through eleven. Currently, 2,725 students are enrolled in grades nine through twelve. The school is located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, in an attendance area which comprises both established communities and newly constructed communities as well as most of the commercial and civic center sections of the city. The multi-cultural make up of the community is reflected in the student ethnic enrollment at the school.

All school-wide programs are designed to connect students to school and their learning. The curriculum is focused on learning experiences that are relevant and have practical applications for all students.

Progressive curricular programs recommended by the California Department of Education, such as Scope, Sequence and Coordination in Science and College Preparatory Mathematics, illustrate the staff's commitment to being on the cutting edge in curriculum. An emphasis is placed on developing powerful teaching and learning strategies.

Other programs designed to support students and promote student success include: Rancho Cucamonga High School Teen Assistance Support Center (RC-TASC); curricular paths in Arts and Communications, Business and Marketing, Engineering and Environmental Technology, Home and Recreation, Science and Health and Social, Legal and Governmental; academic disciplines clustered in divisions; Peer Counseling; and the Renaissance Program.

Rancho High School was selected as a California Distinguished School in 1996, received a full six-year accreditation in 1997, and is currently a National Blue Ribbon School finalist. All of these honors are reflective of the high academic standards and outstanding programs Rancho Cucamonga High School offers its students.
