Why have Multiple Browsers?

I *like* having multiple, full versions of my browser around, which is
another reason to avoid DumbUpdate. Gives me freedom to launch multiple
versions if need be.

captain - I have a CD-ROM with the latest versions of my favorite apps
for just that purpose. I have a cable internet connection, so I figure
if I can get a browser and FTP client up and running I can find/replace
most things pretty quickly. Just a question.. I've found reasons to run
IE5 rather than Netscape 4.5, but I've never found a reason to run
Netscape 4.0 instead of 4.5. Got an example? I'm curious.

mike: Why might I want a down-level version of NS?:
1. The download is slightly corrupted, so works erratically
2. The NS version is buggy
(in both of the above, I retreat to my prior version for awhile)
3. Plug-ins take time to get working in the new version
4. Some of my work-applications are tied to specific versions
In any case, since a browser is critical for my life, and they are
complex beasts, I want at least one version behind the latest.

Got it captain! I've got some version specific apps, but it's IE and not
Netscape. That's why I need both (*sigh*). Forgot about the plugins too.
I agree. It's often a pain to get your new browser configuration up to
the level of the old one.
