Mailboxes Included AND Multiple Mailboxes AND Forwarding & Autoresponders -- Refers to email services.

Disk space --The amount of space that you will be allowed for your account, and is measured in MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes).

Transfer, MB/day AND Transfer, MB/month -- This is the amount of data that you are allowed to transfer with your account. Data is this case usually refers to images, text, or anything else that the web server must transfer to the user's web browser. As a general rule 500 MB of data transfer is equivilant to about 20,000 page views.

Additional FTP Logins -- Account would come with one FTP login.

Includes Virtual Domain -- With a virtual domain, your web site will have its own unique domain name.

Use of System CGI (a library of pre-installed scripts) AND Use of Custom CGI -- Common Gateway Interface. CGI performs server-side activities to produce interactive web sites to power form interaction, shopping carts, ad rotation, etc.

Use of cgiwrap -- CGIWrap is a gateway program that allows general users to use CGI scripts and HTML forms without compromising the security of the http server.

Use of SSI -- A component of CGI, SSI allows you to embed CGI code, or execute code before the HTML page is delivered to the client browser.

Extended Web Logs--Good for tracking web traffic.

Anonymous FTP Site -- Uses the Internet's file Transfer Protocol (FTP) but without the user having to identify themselves to the server. This area contains files that are publicly available to anyone can be viewed or downloaded. The user should enter "anonymous" as their user ID and the password is usually defaulted.

Update by FTP -- This refers to the ability to upload/download files from your computer for your site via FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

Access by Telnet -- Telnet is the main Internet protocol for creating a connection with a remote machine.

Secure Access by SSH -- An internet protocol that allows a user to connect to a remote host via an encrypted link.

Account Control Center -- Main menu setup that accesses your web account.

POP3/IMAP Mailbox Access -- Short for Post Office Protocol, a protocol used to retrieve e-mail from a mail server. Most e-mail applications (sometimes called an e-mail client) use the POP protocol, although some can use the newer IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). There are two versions of POP. The first, called POP2, became a standard in the mid-80's and requires SMTP to send messages. The newer version, POP3, can be used with or without SMTP.

Use of Cron Jobs -- Cron is the ability to run programs based on the system clock. A cronjob is a scheduled task that you want to automatically run at a scheduled time, e.g. run my backup at 7:30pm everyday.

Log Analysis Tools -- Used to analyze your server logs (producing readable, informative reports of website statistics).

Secure Server Available -- Any sensitive information you need encrypted before transmission through a Web Browser is done using a secure server.

FrontPage Extensions -- Support for FrontPage extensions (if you use Microsoft FrontPage to develop your web pages).
