 | Officer Elmer C. Anderson On January 14, 1915 Officer Anderson and his partner, George
Stone, responded to 1531 Yandes Street in search of a vicious dog which had bitten a
neighborhood child. As the men alighted from their motorcycles, the dog darted
between them. The dog sprang at Anderson, who jumped aside just as his partner fired
a shot. The bullet from Stone's gun entered the right side of Anderson's back and
passed through his stomach. Anderson died from the injury.
