Officer Black and Officer Northern were looking for a youth who had cursed at
them or made an obscene gesture and rushed up the stairs of the
apartment building in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court the
afternoon of Feb. 19, 1997. The officers did not find the youth but instead entered an
apartment where Kerrie Price was an invited guest. When officer Black and Northern entered
the appartment, they were fired on by Price. Both officers died of thier wounds.
Price was captured after a two-day manhunt.
