 | Officer James M. Compton, Jr.
On March 16, 1976, Officer Compton, was shot and killed
while attempting to serve a warrant at 2145 N. Gent Avenue with other narcotics
detectives. Officer Compton was gunned down by Del A. Boatright. Boatright was
killed by return fire of other officers at the scene.
