Sergeant Richard Rivers
When Sergeant Rivers went to 2153 S. Barth Avenue to question a suspect in a robbery case on April 27, 1936, he was shot and killed by James Dalhover, a member of the famous "Brady" gang.  Dalhover escaped, but was later captured by police in Maine.  He died in the electric chair on November 17, 1938.
