Deputy Sheriff Harold Amick

Deputy Amick was shot and killed while searching for chicken thieves. He was shot once in the head when he encountered several unrelated suspects who were wanted in an earlier shooting. The two suspects were apprehended and convicted of Deputy Amick's murder. The shooter was sentenced to death and executed on October 9, 1934. The other suspect was sentenced to death. Deputy Amick had been with the agency for four years and was survived by his wife.
