Officer Bough was shot at 9:00 PM, Saturday night in front of the Oolitic movie theater by two men in their
early twenties. Officer Baugh asked the two men not to obstruct the entrance to the theater. The two suspects started to argue with
Officer Baugh, and Officer Baugh advised them if they did not leave, he would arrest then. The suspects refused to leave, and Officer Bough attempted
to arrest them. The subjects started to resist, and a scuffle began between Officer Bough and the 2 subjects. Officer Bough was shot by one of the
suspects and fell to the ground. As Officer Baugh lay on the ground, he was shot 5 more times and died 45 minutes later at Dunn Memorial Hospital. The two suspects were
apprehended the next day by police
