Deputy Marshal Brown, age 29, was behind the Westfield High School checking a suspicious person at this location. Brown requested a records check on this subject through his dispatcher. When his dispatcher failed to make radio contact with Brown.
A second officer was sent to check on him. This officer found Brown shot to death in his police car.
