Patrolman Edward P. Fowler

Officer Fowler was shot on September 21, 1925 at 1:20 AM as he approached 2 suspicious men on the edge of town. The men, unkown to officer Fowler, were car thieves and shot officer Fowler 2 times in the stomach. Officer Fowler returned fire. Later that day officer Fowler died. Hundreds of outraged towns people responded for the manhunt. The killers were never found.
