Educated at the Berklee College of Music, Composer/Partner David Kowal studied composition
and piano. After college in 1976, he was the recording engineer/music designer at
Bose Corporation, responsible for all soundtrack production for Bose Worldwide
Marketing.
In 1982, he co-founded a music production facility in Boston where he
created music and soundtracks for WGBH, WBZ, Polaroid, Digital, Houghton Mifflin
and numerous production companies and advertising agencies. Concurrently, from
1987 until 1989, Mr. Kowal taught at Berklee in the Music Production and
Engineering department.
In 1989 he moved to London and produced
music for BBC projects, corporate projects and hip-hop and dance records.
In 1990, he returned back to
the states to his hometown of Pittsburgh. While in Pittsburgh, he recorded and
wrote the theme songs for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pittsburgh Steelers and
created music packages for Westinghouse (now CBS Corp), AAA and Penn State
Football.
Since 1993, Mr. Kowal has been working in Los Angeles. Recent broadcast credits
include ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, EXTRA:ENTERTAINMENT, CBS/ Sneak Peak, DISNEY/This I Believe, indie films EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED
and THE GIRLS OF SCORES,and WASTELAND JUSTICE; commercial clients Airwalk, Seattle Seahawks and the Florida Marlins.
In addition to his clients in Los Angeles, he continues to work for a variety of
clients in Boston, Pittsburgh and London.
