Description of the "747 wild landing at Hong Kong" clip from Q:
I got the scoop on the 747 video. That was taken at Hong Kong's old airport
which has since been closed. Due to the terrain, it was required to fly a
curving approach so pilots never really knew they were lined up until the
end. A friend of mine here has done that approach and says it's pretty hairy,
he's seen many a video from that same vantage point where the engine
nacelles actually hit the runway.
