Artist Statement and Biography

Background:

I was born in Illinois and now reside in Tampa, Florida. My formal education led me toward a career in the technical fields of engineering and computer science. Now that I am later in life I am able to combine technology with my inherent interest in art and design to create truly unique constructed wall art sculptures.

Media:

I combine the interesting elements of traditional and high tech materials, such as, metal, wood, fused glass, plastic and composites.

Artist Statement:

Having grown up in the 1940’s and 1950’s I have been heavily influenced by Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern architecture and futuristic design. I like to take these concepts and apply technology to produce unique, appealing works of art.

Using state of the art, high tech materials and techniques allows me to capture the imagination of the viewer and appeal to the senses through the use of material, texture, geometry, light, color, and reflectivity that are often impossible to capture by the constraints of more conventional media.
