Deco Designs  -  Artistic Philosophy

My approach to artistic creation is to use quality materials, advanced production techniques and expertise gained from years of manufacturing and computer experience to transform conceptual ideas into objects that I and other art lovers can appreciate and enjoy at a reasonable price.

I have often purchased art that I felt was leading edge, inspiring and thought provoking and later found that the artist was more interested in the concept and his or her own artistic expression than in providing a quality piece of work.

Sometimes the components used in the finished piece were  not of the highest quality, other times quality was lacking in the final assembly or there was little attention to detail. It is my goal to produce art that the owner can be proud to display and share with others.

Other times I would have to pass on quality pieces of work because the artist had not been able to offer the work at a reasonable price. I have taken on the challenge of providing quality work while doing the best I can to keep costs in line.

When possible, I make every part of every piece of art and art furniture myself. However, It is a constant struggle to keep quality high and costs low. To this end, I draw from the expertise, knowledge and skills of business partners in order to provide quality that meets my own personal standards and yet keep costs in line and keep my art affordable.

The concept and execution of a piece from the initial idea to the completed work is always mine. Each piece of wall art is original and unique. My art furniture items are completely hand made and limited edition. Colors and design detail of many pieces can be specified by the customer and commissions are always welcome.

Many of the frames on my wall art pieces are made from select hardwoods, hand cut, finished and constructed by myself. Others, like standard picture frames, are purchased from commercial suppliers because they can be procured at far lower cost than if I were to construct them by hand. Likewise, commercial machine shops produce many of the complex aluminum backgrounds for my wall art. The equipment and technology required to produce these high quality pieces is extremely expensive and often prohibits my crafting these parts myself. Utilizing these commercial services help me in my goal to keep quality high, costs down and prices of the finished works lower.
