There were separate night names, one for each night of the lunar cycle. Since the lunar cycle varies, astronomic observations dictated varying the name sequences. This calendar is in 'western-grid'. Months are identified in english and subtitled in pre-western Hawaiian. Because lunar cycles don't allign well with the western calendar, Hawaiian names are approximate to the western month.
