Authentic Polish Cuisine

The Festival features the following traditional Polish delicacies:

  • Polish Dinner: Pork chop (schabowy), cabbage, beets with horseradish, red potatoes, sauerkraut salad, homemade pastries, coffee/tea/juice.


  • A la carte: Pierogi ruskie, Pierogi with mushrooms, Placki ziemniaczane, Golabki, Kielbasa with saurkraft, Bigos and Kielbasa, Paczki.



  • Polish cuisine dictionary

  • Pierogi - crescent shaped dumplings stuffed with a mix of potatoes, farmers cheese, onions and spices.
  • Golabki - cabbage rolls made of cabbage leaves stuffed with mix of rice, beef, onions and spices.
  • Kielbasa - polish sausage.
  • Bigos - hunters stew of cabbage with meat.
  • Placki Ziemniaczane - potato pancakes, fried shredded potato with onions and spices.
  • Paczki - Polish donuts.

    Keilbasa of different sorts can be purchased at "Victor's European Meat Market" 13500 S.W. Pacific Hwy. #30 in Tigard, OR.

    Hand made pierogi and kielbasa can be tasted every weekend at the Taste of Poland stand at Saturday Market in Downtown Portland.
