INTRODUCTION TO ASTROLOGY |

Welcome to our Astrology page. We hope our guests find within it's pages
a positive message. Right now we are offering a recommended reading list
and just a few paragraphs on how to get started. We have many great things
planned,so visit often. We love our visitors!
Astrology is much more than predicting the future. In fact I have never
used my knowledge of the stars for prediction. What I have used it for,
has changed my life for the better.
Astrology didn't give me the answers to solving life's little quirks, but
it gave me a powerful tool to look within for answers I have been seeking
my whole life.
For Beginners:
The best advice I can give is this, have your natal chart done by a
professional and reputable astrologer. Yes, I know, the reason most
people start studying astrology is so that they can learn to cast their
own chart, but if you do cast your chart for the first time, how do you
know that the information is correct? There are many books which teach
chart casting and not all of them are great, some are good and many more
I would never recommend for a beginner. So, have a natal chart done, buy
the recommended books and study, study, study. Study the history of Astrology
and how it fits in to the modern world, as well as, the mythology of the
signs and corrosponding planets. An overall feel for the signs and planets
should be present. Next learn the glyphs,memorize them. Any Astrology book
which teachs casting will say "learn the glyphs". Learn about the houses
and how the planets and signs interact with them. Use your natal chart
study it, use it to learn,and as you learn the basics of Astrology, learn
about yourself!
Then after, the basics and only after should you attempt casting someone
else's chart.(That is only my humble opinion)
A word on negativaty:
Yuck! What a ugly word,but we live in a world surronded by it. However,
how can we ever apreciate the positive and beautiful without first
understanding the negative and ugly stuff. Both have a place and both
are valid. When you start interpreting your personal chart and find
the yucks,ie. oppositions, squares. Remember the human condition is
composed of both light and dark, no one is perfect, if you were, you
would'nt be here. Squares give us challanges, how boring life would
be without them. Oppositions in a natal chart are a little more serious
but I tell you now-that is the purpose of studying and understanding
the natal chart. The Whys,Hows,and sometimes the Whos can be answered,
sometimes not quickly,(In some cases years or even lifetimes),but with
patience a use can be found for almost all aspects in the natal chart.
So, have faith and whatever path is followed,may ye walk in peace.

A Word on the recommended reading list:
This will change periodically depending on what other books I find
(money allowing) I wanted beginners to have a choice of different views
on Astrology, so as to peak an intrest. But I really didn't add any
books on casting except Mythic Astrology by Liz Greene. I feel this
book is great for beginners as it gives the reader an intuitive feel
for the signs and planets. The Mythic Astrology Kit aslo by Liz Greene
has cards depicting each sign, a workbook, and a card layout for casting.
