California Sierra Foothills & Central Valley Wine Touring Guide

Well, this month it’s been ten years since I launched the SteveO Guides. I have finally launched my own domain CaliforniaWineryGuide.com. Please visit my new site for new features as I continue to upgrade the site. Updates will be made to the new page. This page has moved to the new site and this location will be phased out as I go to my domain.

Welcome to my California Sierra Foothills and Central Valley Wine Touring Guide. The Sierra Foothills wineries are located in Amador, El Dorado, Calaveras, Mariposa, Tuomne, Nevada and Yuba Counties of Northern California. I've also added wineries located in California's Central Valley such as those in the Lodi Appelation to this page.

Relatively isolated from other California wine regions and the ravages of phylloxera, the Sierra Foothills and Amador County in particular has some of the oldest still producing grape vines in some of their old-growth Zinfandel vineyards. The Sierra Foothills and Central Valley with vastly different climats produce very different wines.
