Big Wheel Skates

This is an abstract of an article I wrote for racereports.net . The Millennium 100-84-100-100mm skate is shown at left with an early Miller speed boot. A Hyper 84mm wheel and 2 Belotti 100mm wheels are mounted along with a scooter wheel. I built up a test frame for larger wheels shown on the panels to the right. The middle panel uses 100-100-100-125mm wheels and the rightmost panel uses 125-100-100-125mm wheels. The axle-to-axle frame lengths are 12.1, 12.5, and 13.0 inches respectively.

I found the Millennium 12.1 and the 100-100-100-125 to behave quite similarly but the 125mm version had better roll. The 125-100-100-125 wasn't quite as maneuverable as the others but had even better roll. It was possible to Double-Push with all the frames but the 125-100-100-125 had a little lower stroke rate.
