Miniature Brass Mining Tools
A Salesman's Sample Set?
Marked: "Frank Scott",
"Sheffield", "Tough", "Tool Steel"
This unusual set of miniature mining
tools are extremely well made. There are 12 pieces in this set.
11 are brass. 10 of the 11 Brass miniatures are stamped,
"Tough Tool Steel", and "Frank Scott
Sheffield". One piece is not shown in photos and that is a
beat up wood handle. There are different types of picks and
sledge hammers. There are a couple different long chisel tools or
bars. The neck of one of the picks is removable. The two longest
pieces are 3-7/8 inches long. The smallest hammer head is 1-1/16
inch long and 3/8 inch thick by 3/8 inch wide. I have no idea of
their true age, origin or exact purpose. If you would like more
measurements or photos I will be glad to assist.
