Here is a front view of my 1991 Ford Mustang
LX 5.0. Here are the things you can see from this view that differ from
stock:
Cervini's Cobra grille insert.
Well, I have to say that I was not at all happy with this piece. The quality
was very poor - the person I had prep and paint it had to use a lot of
filler just to even out the top bar. You can see that it (in my opinion)
has too large of a gap between it and the hood. I was also told when I
bought it that the price was going up do to an increase in the price of
the running horse piece, however, several months later the price had not
changed in their magazine ads - but they did charge me more. If I could
do it again I would look for this piece from somewhere else, or just make
sure you can send it back if it doesn't look right when you get it (mine
sat around for a couple months until I could get it installed).
The black Mustang lettering
and red stripes are decals. I forget where I bought them, but one place
that advertises them is Graphic Express - www.graphic-express.com.
This brings me to the color choices on the car.
I actually don't much care for red, but the price was right at the time
and it had the gray GT style interior that I wanted, so I figured what
the heck. When it came time to add some custom touches to the car I really
wanted white stripes, but I think they look tacky on cars with the black
body molding. I couldn't afford to have the molding painted along with
stripes, grill insert and wing - so I decided to go with an all red and
black scheme on the exterior. I think it turned out all right, but I would
still prefer red and white - actually I guess if I could have any color
it would be a deep blue with white stripes.
