Grandparents in the role of Parents again.

About Us: Jerry and Carol and the Group.

My Wife Carol and I created this site because we understand the need for support and information during these confusing times. (As the kids say, "Been there, done that")

Our purpose in hosting the meetings is simple; when we were in our situation, custody of our grandsons we knew of no Grandparent Raising Grandkids support groups in our area and few in other areas.

After countless conversations with other Grandparents in various reparenting situations; wanting to know if there was any resource information available and where? Or support groups in our area, to obtain information and help. We formed this group. This group is not about adoption; although many have, it’s about Love and Safety for our Grandchildren.

This group has been formally active for over six years and we have had phone communication with Grandparents in need for over eight years. We are also listed with several county "Human Service" Agencies, and listed with many grandparent groups on the web.

We do not claim to be counselors or lawyers. What we bring to the meeting is support and information. We attend or participate in "Human Services" events as time allows keeping abreast of changes that may affect Grandparents rights, especially where "Grandkids" are involved. We also accumulate information and resource information that may be helpful; dental services, respite care, things to do, etc. We do not have all the answers but another group participant or we may have information that will lead you to the answer.

A little About Us: Jerry and Carol

My wife and I have been married for 32 years. We have four children of our own, and the latest addition to our family is our two adopted grandsons. We had custody of our grandsons for a few years while one of our daughters was going through troubled times. It didn’t work out and the grandsons were put up for adoption. After many months we adopted them. (May 5,1997) Now that might sound very simple but if you’re reading this you know how difficult a time this was.

Hi we are Zak (9) and Josh (11) and our Grandma and Grandpa took care of us for a long, long time then adopted us. Maybe they can help you? They learned a lot!

 So now you know a little about us and why we continue to host the Grandparents group.
