Peace River Radio Association Club Meeting Thursday, July 31, 2003 meeting. The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. by President Mike Swiader, KA9WIE, with the Pledge of Allegiance. Mike Swiader, KA9WIE, submitted his resignation from the position of President, as well as the resignation of Bill Norris, KC7TSG, from the position of Vice President of the Peace River Radio Association. Dave Hanson, KB0EVM, made a motion that the resignations of Mike Swiader and Bill Norris be accepted. The motion was seconded by Carole Norris, KG4WTR and the motion carried. A motion was made by Bill Spinks, KF4RNT, that Jack Keim, KE4IM, be nominated for President and Danny Wharton, KG4MJM, be nominated for Vice President of the Peace River Radio Association. The motion was seconded by Joe Reisinger, K2IT, and the motion carried. Minutes were read from the June 27 meeting and a motion to accept as read was made by Joe Reisinger, seconded by Bill Spinks, and the motion carried. Club finances as of 7/31/03, as read by Don Hartlein, KG4NKO, were $3,204.03. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read was made by Jackie Forbes, N4XKG, and seconded by Beau Thompson, N9MFK, and motion carried. Committee Reports: Picnic Committee: Although Craig Harger, K0CSH, Picnic chairman, was not in attendance, November 15th has been confirmed at the Charlotte County Fairgrounds for a joint club picnic. Plans need to be finalized with CARS for the picnic. Unfinished Business: Discussions were held on the ARRL’s position on Morse Code as well as obtaining grant money and the necessity of having someone capable of writing grant applications. Martin Lee, K4TDB, will check on the price for a new club banner by the next club. New Business: Jack Keim passed out copies of proposed new By Laws for the PRRA to all in attendance for comments at the next meeting. There was no presentation.
