Resources

Using the Resources listed and the others available in class, find out the answers to the following questions and write them on your worksheet.  You may not be able to answer ALL the questions for your composer, but include as many important facts as you can.  Add any additional interesting facts you find.  Using that information, you will write a biographical paragraph or two about your composer's childhood.

1)  What is your composer's full name?
2)  When were they born?
3)  Where were they born?
4)  How many children were there in their family?
5)  Where did they learn to play music and who were their teachers?
6)  What instruments did they learn to play as children?
7)  Did they come from a musical family?  Did their parents play instruments?  Did their brothers or sister play instruments?  Which ones?
8)  When did they start composing?  How did they learn?

After you have written and edited your paper (see Assignment) you may create your web page.

Your web page should include the following:

  • A title
  • The final copy of your biographical information
  • At least one graphic depicting the childhood of your composer such as a map of where he/she was born, a portrait, photographs of important places or the instruments your composer played, portraits of the family, etc.  If you are not sure if a graphic is good, ask.
  • Type links to the other pages of your groups projects.  (Title page, Adult Life and Musical Works)
  • Save your page as *****child with the *'s being the first 5 letter of your composer last name.
