Faith Steed Howarth

During the 1980’s, David Ellery Howarth (1935 — ??), son of George Alvin Howarth (1900 — 1969) and Faith Steed (1902 — 1992) managed, after much discussion and cajoling, to get on tape some of the reminiscences of Faith Steed Howarth.

Some guides to the markings:
[something] indicates explanatory information provided by Dave Howarth
or interjections as the taping was being made.
[... ] indicates word(s) on the tape that could not be understood.

Mom = Faith Steed Howarth
Dad = George Alvin Howarth
Pam = Pamela Faye Howarth Crane
Dave = David Ellery Howarth

These conversations were hardly edited and there were places where it was not possible to be certain exactly what Mom said, but it is felt that they represent well enough what was intended. It must be remembered that Mom never got to hear and / or correct any of these tapes. Most of the material has been moved from its order on the tapes to make the time line of mom’s life a little more evident. Some of the subjects are covered several times and in similar ways and the time line still skips about.

These reminiscences are made available to those who knew and loved Faith Steed Howarth.
