Julia Romania Brown Peterson
Life History

A fter Julia's death, several papers in her own hand-writing were found amoungst her voluminous Family History materials. One of these is the “Extra Day” Already on the Family History page. Another is this history of her life that she wrote in 1967. There are many parallels to the history that she gave in her interviews with Virginia Cole, but there are enough differences — actually amplifications — to make this a unique document. Therefore, it has been transcribed and annotated here.

Julia begins her Life History in this manner:

Today is the rainy day of Oct. 28, 1967. I have been thinking of my life today and remembering so many things so I thought today is the day to start.
