THE NAUVOO CONNECTION

Many of the Peterson and Howarth ancestors passed through or lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, the site of many of the early happenings in the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. Because of this interest, it is noteworthy that (at least) the following ancestors either resided for some period or passed through Nauvoo on the way to Utah:

John Lovell / Ann Parsons(1), Anna [Ane] Jergensen (3) (Peterson line)
James Whitmore Preston / Emaline Houston (Peterson line)
Although not a land owner in Nauvoo, James Whitmore Preston lived in Nauvoo with, travelled to Utah with and married the daughter of Isaac Houston.
Isaac Houston / Theodocia Keyes (Peterson line)

Henry William Miller / Elmira Pond (Howarth(s) line)
John Reed / Rebecca Bearce [Bierce] (Howarth(s) line)
Joseph Lee Robinson / Maria Wood (Howarth(s) line)
Thomas Steed / Charlotte Niblett (Howarth(s) line)
Thomas Speirs / Mary Cochran (Howarth line)
