Curves Layers Files for Downloading

To dowload a file, RIGHT click on the name of the file. Then clidk "Save Target As ...." If your browser correctly shows the file as a Tiff file, then you can just save it to an appropriate folder. (If your browser shows the file name as an *.htm file, change the extension to *.tif.)

These files have layers on them that can be used by Photoshop Elements owners to apply curves to their working files. When one of these files as well as the working grayscale file are open, the layer from one of these files can simply be dragged to the target working file.

This layer compresses the shadows and increases separation in the highlights:

This layer increases contrast but leaves the white and black points were they are. That is, it will not totally wipe out your highlights and shadows, just compress them while increasing midtone contrasts.
