Welcome to My Photo Gallery Index
Introduction
On this index page, small thumbnail images serve as links to
larger versions of the images.
While there are categories by location or theme, I'll start with the new ones and the ones that are
favorites of mine -- long term or just at the moment for some reason.
Enjoy.
New and Selected Favorites
Zion Narrows
Rainbow Falls
Granite Park
Taos Pueblo Cemetery
Sespe
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park in California needs no introduction. I've
been a regular visitor since age 2 and still find it to be
a nature lover's and black and white photographer's nirvana.
Although, I prefer to avoid the Summer crowds.
First Light
Half Dome
Clearing Storm
Yosemite Falls
Badger Pass
Cathedral Rocks

The John Muir Wilderness and Environs
The finest high country (10,000 feet and above) in California's
Sierra Nevada range is encompassed within the John Muir Wilderness,
although the neighboring Ansel Adams Wilderness, Golden Trout Wilderness,
and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks also have spectacular scenery.
I think of the entire area, generically, as the
"John Muir Wilderness and Environs."
For many years I have been backpacking into this area -- which thankfully
has no roads to spoil its beauty. Since 1981, with the purchase of my Rollei SL66
outfit, I've been accumulating hundreds of high resolution, medium
format negatives that record my views of much of this spectacular
wilderness. The posted images are a few of my efforts.

California Central Coast
The California Central Coast, from just north of Santa Barbara through Big Sur,
including the hills and coastal valleys along the coast, encompasses areas that
combine some of the best weather California has to offer, smog-free air, low
density of population, and natural beauty that is often overlooked. I
currently live in the Santa Ynez Valley, which is at the southern end of
this Central Coast area. As such, the Central Coast is my new home range,
which I am enjoying exploring. Some of what I am finding is below.
Whalers' Cabin, Point Lobos
Mission San Miguel
Dunes, Oceano
Oso Flaco Beach
Cambria Surf
Poison Oak
and Eucalyptus
Northwest
The Northwest U.S., including not just the coast but also the Mountains of Wyoming,
Montana, and the rest of the region, has some of the finest scenery I've seen.
The Grand Teton
Rialto Beach
Cedar Creek
Burney Falls
Port Angeles
Abstracts of Nature and Man
To varying degrees, most of my photos involve some abstraction.
However, I appreciate that most people prefer photos that are
easy to interpret and that they can relate to. Most of the photos
above fit that description. Here, I will be putting those more
abstract images that may suggest other than what is literally
presented. However, it's all in the eyes of the observer.
Enjoy.

Mr. Rock's Grotto
Westport Lighthouse
