Quentin
Santaigo was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1896. He received
a B.S. degree in Engineering from U. of Michigan in 1917 and was
soon after drafted into the U.S. Army. Serving in France as a medical
corpsman, he was badly wounded by shrapnel in Sept. 1918 and was sent home,
his face badly disfigured. After a lengthy recuperation, he returned
to school and received his M.D. in 1923. He established his practice
in New York City.
