Velusamy Ramdas

VeluVelusamy Ramdas, Sr. Partner, Independent Investigations

Born: August 4, 1891, Bombay, India.

Third son of T. Ramdas, Parsi trader.
Undergraduate studies at Elphinstone College.
Law studies in England interrupted by war.
Served in Kenya, primarily as security officer.
Returned to England following war and joined Scotland Yard.
Established Independent Investigations with Jessica Wright, also formerly with Scotland Yard, in 1921.

Independent Investigations serves all clients with discretion.  Can accommodate local, national, and international investigations, with contacts in Europe, Northern and Central Africa, India and the Far East.

Personal information:

Married to Chandra Ghandhi in 1910.  They have two children (Zubin, a six-year old boy, and Indira, a four-year old girl).   Chandra’s widowed sister, Indira Mehta, lives with them and helps run the office.   Velu has two older brothers.   The oldest, Pherozeshah, is still in Bombay, continuing their father’s trading business.  The middle brother, Mumbai, is just one year older than Velu.  He also served in Kenya, but remained there to establish an import/export firm of his own, continuing the family tradition.
