Top 5 Steps for Newbies to Take
- Play through the Novice's trainer campaign. The Novice
campaign will give you a good knowledge of some of the
game's most basic concepts, as well as giving you a glimpse
into Chron X's backstory.
- Be very careful in trading. You may want to create a
special deck just to hold the cards you are willing to
trade. Keep your rares and very rares off of the trading
table for a while. You may have stumbled upon a very pricey
card which some players may gladly relieve you of in
exchange for chump change.
- Learn about the different cards available in Chron X. The
Chron X web site has a list available of all the cards in
the game. You may want to print out this list (if you
happen to have a printer and plenty of extra paper). Read
up, because you may get ideas on interesting combos to play
or cards that you may want to look for in trades.
- Learn proper Core etiquette. Nothing is quite as annoying
as a player who hits the challenge button without ever
making a simple inquiry such as, "Hey, are you up for a
game?" There are dozens of other common pitfalls
unsuspecting newbies can fall into. Try to avoid them, or
you may find yourself with an undesirable reputation which
will come back to haunt you later on.
- Work your way through the Desperado program. There are ten
levels of challenges to face which will hopefully teach you
about the game. Plus, you might win yourself some useful
cards along the way. For more information about the
Desperado program, see the links
page.
