Needing a Sacrament?

Baptism

English Infant (under 6-7 years old) Baptisms fall on the Saturday (at 12 noon) following the 1st wednesday of the month. Spanish Infant Baptisms are celebrated on the Saturday following the 2nd wednesday of the month. Children who are already in school are prepared in our RCIC (Rite of Christian Initation of Children) before their baptism.

(1) Fill out the registration form in the rectory office months in advance before the intended date of baptism. (2) Choose the right sponsors or godparents for your child. According to Church canon law #874 a sponsor or godparent is atleast 16 years of age, has received baptism, confirmation, and 1st eucharist, and leads a life in harmony with the Catholic faith. Thus, a sponsor if married has to be married in the Catholic Church, not just civilly. (3) Parents and sponsors attend the scheduled Baptismal Preparation Class.

First Communion
Children or adults needing First Communion go through our RCIC (Rite of Christian Initation for Children) or RCIA (Rite of Christian Initation for Adults). Please contact the directors for these programs.
Penance or Confession

Our confession schedule are M-F (7:45am - 8:00am) and Sat (3:30pm -4:30pm). You may also call the rectory to set up an appointment with the priest.

In case of serious sins, we need to go to confession before receiving the Eucharist. Otherwise, the Eucharist itself has the power to heal and cleanse us of less serious sins. Regular confession every 1-2 months is a spiritually beneficial devotional practice for us.

Confirmation

Teens needing confirmation go through our 2 year confirmation preparation process. Please contact the director of our youth confirmation.

Adults needing confirmation also go through a preparation process. Please contact our director of RCIA.

Matrimony

Couples planning to get married need to call our rectory office or wedding coordinators at least 6 months before their intended wedding date. No reception venue should be made before the Church requirements and availability have been settled.

The couple meets with the wedding coordinators 4-5 times during the 6 month period to talk about their marriage and take care of the necessary documentation. The priest who will preside at the wedding will meet with the couple at the very end of the preparation process.

Holy Orders

"If today you hear His voice, harden not your heart."

God might be nudging to you to answer His call to service as a priest. If you are this person, please call our Archdiocesan Vocation Office at 213-637-7248 or visit  vocations.la-archdiocese.org

Anointing of the Sick

If someone you know needs the anointing of the sick call the rectory office to request a priest to come. Please specify if the person can also receive communion or not.

Don't wait for the sick person to be in a dying stage before you call for a priest to administer the sacrament of anointing.

Priest Schedule of Visits to Convalescent Homes: 2nd Monday - Country Oaks; 3rd Monday - Ember Care; 4th Monday - Inland Valley
