30th Anniversary Blowout
September 25, 1999
Sign a no-smoking pledge for 30
days, beginning August 28th at the Wings,
Wheels, and Whistles Celebration.
Pledge cards will be available in Greenfield at the Wings, Wheels and
Whistles Celebration, or may be requested from the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Greenfield
Chamber of Commerce, F.A.C.T.S, or by email.
Governor Tom Vilsack has signed proclamations designating September
25 a Tobacco Free Day for the
citizens of the State of Iowa, and urging all Iowans to join the citizens of Greenfield in
abstaining from the use of tobacco products for 30 days prior to the
celebration.
All mayors anywhere are invited by Greenfield Mayor, Bob
Guikema, to join Greenfield in signing similar proclamations for their communities, and to
then participate in a special Mayors March section of the parade
at the celebration on September 25.
Movie Reunion Party
Anyone who had any part (even if it ended up on the cutting room
floor) in any way, in the filming of the movie is invited to come -
and if you can't come, please share some memories with us!
Arrangements for the filming of a
part of a major Hollywood movie in Greenfield were being made last
weekend by representatives of a film company. The movie to be made
here is a comedy starring Dick Van Dyke.
