Hello, my name is "Bruno" Dale John Reid.  Thanks for stopping in.

I was born and raised in Gardena, CaliforniaGardena is a suburb of Los Angeles.
I am the last of six children born to Diane Ayala and Richard Reid.  My siblings are Daniel,
Paul, Alicia, Adam, and Eric.  As you can see, there were 5 boys and 1 girl.  You may pity her, it's o.k.
I actually knew and conversed with my great-grandfather who was born in 1880 and died in 1980.
My mother was a secretary for a wire rope company in
Compton.  She is now retired. My father died in Oklahoma 2
years ago.  He served in the Korean War and was honored with the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.

I currently work for Southwest Airlines as a Customer Service Agent. This means I sell tickets and answer questions.
In my spare time I play soprano recorder and dance for Country Garden English dancers, Pipe and Bowl Morris,
Newcastle English Country Dancers, and Sunset  Morris.  I also enjoy playing tennis,
going to the movies, and watching professional football and basketball. I have a lovely wife whose name is
Grace Mueller (Love you honey.  No, I’m not playing on the computer again – notice she didn’t change her last name),
and a fourteen year old son named Jonathan
Preston Reid.

I have been working at the Renaissance Faires 20+ years now!
I started there teaching visitors to juggle, then began dancing 5 years later and have remained doing so since.
The man who taught me to dance and is the current director of
Newcastle is Ron Collins. Ron is a marvelous dancer, a brilliant stage choreographer, and a good friend.  He guided me week after week with all the patience any one man could muster and all for price of a six pack of beer a lesson.  The group was originally called the Anglo Folk Ballet and was started by a man by the name of Doug Berger who learned the dances from Richard Chase.  Richard had brought the dances over from England.  Doug then passed it on to Ron Collins saying that you should always keep this going.  As long as Newcastle has men and women with the same vision as these, my friends, I am sure the dance group will survive when I am just a rumor of some idiot in the past that used to dance pretty well.  I continue to teach English country dance to those who are willing, thereby doing my part to continue the visions of Cecil Sharp, Richard Chase, Doug Burger, and Ron Collins.  These men are not without help I must say.  The beauty and talent of the ladies of Newcastle are legendary.  They are able to dance in the heat and dust all day and yet consistently maintain their charm and elegance.  Hats off to you ladies, if it weren't for you we'd all be pathetic losers.
The musicians are the most talented individuals ever.  No jive.  These men and women are simply the best, playing perfectly every time under extreme conditions.  (That would be me harassing them in the middle of a show)

I was taught to play the Recorder by a wonderful lady by the name of Kate Friedricks.  Another very patient
and kind master of her art. (I was lucky to meet many in my life)

To all those at the Faire and all of you.  Thank you.
