We are always looking for people interested in joining our crew.

Who Can Join?

We invite anybody interested to join our P.B.E.M who is Gay friendly and 18 years of age or older. There are 3 different levels of participation you can involve yourself in.
 
  • YAHOO GROUPS LISTSERV: We use Yahoo Groups as our free listserv. It allows us to send our posts to one common email address that will distribute it to all members of the Yahoo Groups USS Olympic PBEM. The first step in joining the game is to join the yahoo group.
  • LURKERS: People who are interested in the reading the ongoing story that the Players create through there posts. Lurkers are allowed to read the posts submitted and access the post archives. However, they are prevented from posting or adding content or comments to the listserv directly.
  • PLAYERS: People who directly contribute the games content by posting to the listserv. In order to become a player you must meet the same requirements of a lurker, be able to post on a regular basis according the policies stated in the Posting Guidelines section of this website and submit a character that is approved by the Games Moderator. 
  • GAME MODERATOR: A game moderator is a player who has additional responsibilities. They help keep the plot moving and assist the Game Creater (The Captain) in maintaining the game by performing routine administrative duties. Currently the only Game Moderator position available is the Position of the Executive Officer.

How do I become a Lurker?

To become a lurker please email a Game Moderator a request to be added to the Yahoo Groups list server. Either the Game Moderator or the Game Creator will send you an invitation to join. Your membership to the USS Olympic Yahoo Group will be limited to a read only status. You will not be able to post messages to the listserv.

How do I become a Player?

To become a Player please go to the following link and fill out the form and submit it. The application will be reviewed and you will be contacted by Captain Halloway with in 24 hours of your submission of the status of the application.

How do I become a Game Moderator?

Currently the only Game Moderator position that is being offered is for the position of the Executive Officer. If you wish to be more involved and help in the ongoing maintenance of the game all you have to do is apply for the Executive Officers position. This position is judged harder than any other. In order to become a Game Moderator you must be Dedicated, Experienced and work well with others. It is not advisable for first time players to apply for this position.

The USS Olympic P.B.E.M. is a Gay Friendly Play By E-Mail Free Form Role Playing Game for adults 18 years of age and older.
